I completely understand disliking your commute, but making the most of it. Mine wasn't so bad (about 45 minutes from Wrigleyville to downtown Chicago), but after a year I moved downtown so I could walk a few blocks to work. It's great. I found my way back to one nearly 2 years ago. I'm fortunate to have a well-funded one nearby, with movies, an amazing variety of CDs, and most importantly, audio books. It's obviously that I left out our bound printed friends books, but I don't have the time to indulge in them as I like. Back to audio books. I drive 50+ miles to work each day, which is a reason why I'm looking for a new job, which is a reason I found your blog. Music and audio literature are soothing medicine as I engage in vehicular warfare, 5 days a week. I've covered the gamut of fiction and non-fiction. Lately I've discovered that there are things that will engage you sitting on a couch reading that may otherwise put you to sleep while driving. I keep that in mind each time I pick up the next one. My library even has free downloadable audio books, which tower over cd audio books, selectionwise. However, they are not available to Mac users, so I don't get to enjoy them. Libraries rule.
